Narvaez, Luys de - Cancion del Emperador - D05

I recorded this a few weeks ago but played it in a performance class a few days ago at the Sauble Guitar festival. I think this version is better - there wasn't as much adrenaline to deal with during the recording process. :)

Thanks very much for all of your positive comments. :merci:

I really love this piece now (for 2 months) and wonder why I had completely overlooked it for 20 years. Everything in its time, I guess.

I think it is wonderful that a piece of music can do that! I guess all of those years of musical endeavour have shaped your way of thinking and now you can see its possibilities. I'm glad you did!

Best wishes, V :D

Hello Wayne,

Beautiful playing, really elegant shaping of the lines and good understanding of the musical style of the period. Nice recording as well, the guitar sounds clear and you get a nice tone.

Thanks for sharing! :bravo:

Wayne - I really liked your interpretation - lots of strength and control in your playing, clarity in the voices as well. That's one of my favorite pieces. Did you use the F# tuning?

Thanks a lot, Ken. I did use the F# tuning (and capo on II). Cheers.

Wayne,
This is one of the nicest mp3's I've heard on this forum, very strong and controlled playing with a lovely tone - you've made me dig out the sheet music and start learning this piece!
THanks for posting
