Massimo thanks for posting, this young man is a major talent and he's just won the 2015 GFA Competition so I'm hoping we will all see and hear much more of him in the near future. He's very charming and enthusiastic and has everything in his playing to make a successful career.

I wish we had this kind of TV program here in the USA, but I'm not holding my breath, even on public television. I mean he plays a substantially long Regondi piece and then the hosts interview him at length and then he ends with the complex Courante from the keyboard Partita #6 BWV 830 by Bach, wow! :D

Again thanks very much for posting this video.

Regards, Ray

:merci:

What a lovely chap.

That was actually quite an educational discussion for the non-specialist, including nails, tone production, transcription and the lack of major composers.

There was mention of Lagoya and it looks rather like he's playing off the right side. That right little finger looks really tense ...

Good to hear a player of that generation with a nice sounding guitar - looks like a Bernabe headstock.

PS its actually a Courante at the end.

I happened to watch this program live here in France.
I always try not to miss this program that has been run since 2006 by Jean François Zygel who is a fantastic piano improvisor. It covers all aspects of classical music.

Bumping this as I've just watched the video again and his playing is pretty special. Despite the obvious virtuosity the overriding impression is his musical expression - I feel as though his guitar is singing to me! And boy, does he have a wonderfully clean technique, yet also smooth and silky.

And the reaction of the panel is wonderful too. The presenter gives him the big build up and you can see they're all like 'Ok, let's see if he really is that good'... and then he starts to play and they melt. It's wonderful, just wonderful.
