The Maelasta Duo, Feargus Hetherington and Matthew McAllister, have performed in major venues such as The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, The Sage Concert Hall in Newcastle, The Royal Museum, The Reid Hall, The Cathedral of The Isles, Edinburgh City Halls and further afield in Denmark and Ireland. Presenting their unique outlook on the combination of violin and classical guitar, the duo have given over 100 concerts for the Live Music Now scheme, founded by Yehudi Menhuhin to bring music to the disadvantaged in society. In 2007 Maelasta were engaged by Classic FM to tour the Outer Hebredies.
Maelasta’s self-titled debut album was released in 2005.
Matthew & Feargus will be conducting a masterclass and workshop for students after the concert.
