That is a nice arrangement. No idea about the score, but the filming is so straightforward you could learn from that.

Hmm...I doubt this arrangement is the same as the one on the video. It's in a Grade 1 book and the table of contents indicate it's written in the key of C. The video is in D. As Steve said, it would not be difficult to derive it from the video. The comments for the video mention that it can be found in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine, volume 25. However, I just checked on their website and could not get the link to past issues to work. Good luck.

This score was published in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine volume 25, according to one of the Youtube comments. Perhaps you can find that issue out there in Google land somewhere.

Hi All,

I emailed Steve Eckels to ask whether his arrangement of Londonderry Air is available anywhere and here is his reply:
Thank you very much.

It is not currently available. The gentleman who performed it must have gotten it from
Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine from 18 years ago.

I will let you know when I get time to write it out.

Steve

Cheers,

There is a very good arrangement of Londonderry Air in "Picking Jazzguitar 1" by Fred Harz as well. There are three Volumes in this series and most of the arrangements are really good and not too difficult to play.

There were some nice arrangements of this piece in the classical guitar newsgroup. Among them mine, which can still be found on http://www.knila.nl. The others might be found by googling 'arrangization danny boy'.

You're welcome. Maybe not quite what you were looking for, but at least the same melody.

Jerry Willard's anthology entitled "50 Easy Irish Favorites for Classical Guitar" has an excellent arrangement of Danny Boy. In fact, I like it better than virtually every other arrangement I've heard, because Jerry doesn't bury the melody (*the* heart of this piece) under a mountain of blue notes and embellishments. It's in the key of D, so melody notes go as high as the F# on the 16th fret, yet it falls easily under the fingers.

IMO, it's as good as Steve Eckels's arrangement, and it's readily available. Finally, you get 49 other arrangements with it and downloadable audio!

I recommend it highly.

Also worth a look is David Jaggs arrangement on youtube; the arrangement is available as pdf from his website. The dropped D tuning works very well, though the piece is not easy as such.
