Core ngrato (Catari)

Post by richard3 » Tue Dec 12, 2017 2:30 pm

Anyone knows about a published transcription of this song "Core ngrato" for solo guitar?
John Williams plays it on one of his latest CDs, and Philippe Mariotti has a lovely version on YT.

The composer died 1947, so it's out of copyright.

I have an arrangement, which I think I got from the Italian version of this forum/website. I'll send it to you.

If it's from this website, why can't you just post the link here?

Below is its location on the Italian forum. Problem is, as I understand it, you have to be registered separately with the Italian forum to access the pdf.

I don't read Italian, but it seems you are right. I wonder what the rationale is.

The reason is simple: The four forums are four separate databases and there's no sharing of information between them.

If I wanted to play this tune, I'd probably try and track down Philippe Mariotti and ask if he'd be willing to share the one he plays:

How long ago did you write him? Maybe someone on the French Delcamp forum could help?

In my experience, most guitarists, no matter how famous, will typically respond to such requests. There are some exceptions, which I typically attribute to happenstance, e.g. my message gets sent to the person's Spam folder in error, or maybe the person read my mail and intended to reply, but due to a busy schedule didn't have time at first and then simply forgot.

With the help of Paul5 I got the arrangement from the italian part of this forum, and that is fine. Many thanks!

That's unfortunate. It closes whole libraries of scores to people registered in different languages.
