The Flower of Magherally (Irish) for Classical Guitar

Post by Altophile » Thu Jan 11, 2018 5:38 pm

Hello,

Does anyone know of an arrangement of "The Flower of Magherally" (Traditional Irish) for classical guitar? I'm currently playing Jim Tozier's arrangement except that I use drop D tuning while he uses DADGAD.

I like Tozier's arrangment, but it was conceived with a steel string guitar in mind and DADGAD tuning, and I'd like to see how a good classical player would handle it in standard or drop D tuning.

You can hear Tozier's A Minor arrangement, here:

Guy Bergeron arranged it in G Minor, but you'll have to search for it, because it's on a site that has a URL that will be blocked here.

BTW, for those interested in student repertoire, this piece is as easy to play as Packington's Pound or Greensleeves.
