Music for Trumpton,Camberwick Green and Chigley

Post by jamesk » Thu Nov 24, 2005 7:55 pm

This will only make any sense to UK members aged 35 to 40 . The music to these great childrens shows was played (and written) by the classical guitarist Freddie Phillips and I think they are great to play . I have TAB versions of some of the themes. Anyone got any more?
Anyone know what I,m talking about?

I know what you mean - those delightful songs accompanied by a classical guitar bring back many nostalgic memories.

I'd love to know where to get hold of the sheet music. Perhaps you could share with us what you've got.

I particularly like "PC McGarry no 452", "driving along in an army truck" & "time flies by when you're the driver of a train".

Can anyone think of any more?
Does anyone know where to get the manuscripts?

You need to check out the Trumptonshire Web page at

http://www.t-web.co.uk/trumpgo.htm

There is a page about the music at

http://www.t-web.co.uk/trumpmus.htm

which mentions the scores having been published by Hamlyn in 1969 and 1970 and suggests trying good second-hand shops to find them.

Sad or what.....?

I wouldn't mind having a look at those Frddie Phillips tabs, if possible.
