Hello David,

What is so special with a 1981-1986 Gilbert that would make it equal in value to this guitar?

Maybe it is like one of those Indiana Jones things where inside the guitar is a medallion you can cut out of the bracing wood using a special protractor found in a book in an ivy league college library by using a compass which was in the hand of a dead Nazi , whereupon this guitar bracing medallion will lead you into a special hill in Tibet where you have to fight a burly Afghani to death and then use his gold earring to call on a UFO that will bring back his lost grandmother.
Maybe.

I know, one John Gilbert from those years has a Golden Ticket taped to the inside!

I hope people get the reference. If not, buy some Wonka bars.

This is bordering on blasphemy against one of the best guitar builders that the US has to offer over the years. :(
