Not perhaps, this is real!Perhaps, but at least there is no tax to pay.
And my personal calculation includes tax to pay or not tax to pay, so this is redundant.

I don't think the 50 mm nut width is really a problem. Typically you'll see a distance of 43 or 44 mm between the first and 6th strings. So the extra room in the nut just gives you more room to keep the 1st and 6th strings a bit further from the edge of the neck.....FWIW.impphil wrote:I'm glad I woke this thread up, but my original question still stands about the string width.
I'm guessing it's because the guitar has a 50mm neck that it hasn't sold. I might be tempted otherwise.
This Ambridge for a similar price viewtopic.php?f=76&t=97361 sold instantly recently, although that one was in perfect condition and had Rio rosewood.
Yes, guitars from both the UK and the U.S. cost us 50% more than just 18 months ago due to the declining dollar. Otherwise I would probably have bought this one....MikeT wrote:it's all very well to talk about the GDP/EURO ratio - have a look at the Aus $ - just as well we have some very fine luthiers here. The SA looks like an amazing guitar. Merlin - are you really a wizard ? i didn't see you in any of the Harry Potter movies ?
Congratulations Merlin. I just got home and my daughter said ... Richard....new guitar....Merlin.MerltheWizard wrote:(Hammer slam) Sold!

Hey - make sure you give us a review!richardm wrote: I didn't really feel I could justify having two expensive guitars (I already own a Bert Kwakkel cedar). However, I've been thinking for a while that I missed an opportunity, so when I saw it was still available I decided to go for it. I'm collecting on Monday!
Congratulations Richard. Well hit me with a wet fish! ; to see a delcamp member who is the father of my elder daughter's best friend and lives only a couple of streets away.richardm wrote:Yes, I finally decided to buy it. I saw it earlier in the year, and although I loved the guitar I decided against buying it, as I didn't really feel I could justify having two expensive guitars (I already own a Bert Kwakkel cedar). I think I now need to ask the moderators to ban me from the Guitars for Sale pages, or I'll end up with as many as you !
Richard
Sure you can borrow it. I'd be interested in how they both compare. I think my Wolverton would compare very favourably to your Ambridge.richardm wrote:PS - I you ever need more room in your house I'd be happy to take your Wolverton off your hands for a while...
