Maybe ask your wife nicely if you could have just one more guitar, you could help solve the problem! Good chance of success if you pick up a nice present for her this weekend.

Haha, Simon. You know quite well, that she would not be amused at all. Besides I have hardly enough time to play two excellent guitars. A third one would only be a S. Magennis guitar one day.

But honestly I have read so much enthusiastic reports about her guitars that I am really surprised to see no delcamper being eager to own one.

Hi,

I'm the owner of the other de Jonge for sale on this forum.

I think that classical guitars sell slowly, on here, and on that famous auction site. I don't think it is a function of the maker as much as an indication that the number of classical players is rather small compared to the world of electric and acoustic steel instruments. I see $1000 instruments not sell, so I don't think it is that much of a function of price, although, of course, it takes longer to sell a $6000 instrument than it does a $1000 instrument.

Besides, you Delcampers already own multiple instruments, in many cases. ;) I wish Delcamp would do more to advertise and bring in classical players, but I guess that won't happen. I've talked to world class players who have never heard of this site. I think a lot of amateur players have never heard of Delcamp either. That does not make it easy to sell our guitars.

Those are my thoughts, anyway.

Well, I was lucky enough to sell two guitars here on Delcamp. Its luck a lot of the time, you put a guitar up, someone is interested, happens to see it, boom, sold.

The good thing is we are sort of self-policed here, its unlikely someone is going to sell you a guitar that isn't what they say it is, but on the auction site, its very much caveat emptor.

Hello
Sorry to have vanished - life, etc. The guitar is still unaccountably available. It's on consignment at the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Store.

Sorry, as the seller's account has evidently lapsed from non-use, he is no longer around to reply, and this ad is now withdrawn.
