Because I'm not there, I really can't say. However, consider that you had played for 18 months in the past, and have now returned after 14 years. I've played for almost 40 years. I'm embarrassed to say (well not really) that there have been many times I've set the guitar down for a few weeks at a time. When I return to the guitar (I'm becoming an expert at returning to the guitar...LOL) I'm not able to anything well. Playing the absolute rank beginner easiest of exercises is the only thing I can begin doing well when I return. And that is also the very path that gets me back in shape the quickest.
