Any real alternative to nails, save fingerpicks?

I used Kiss false nails, stuck on with superglue and shaped and polished with the device a couple of threads down from this.
I think this combination can produce a very good alternative to nails, and for me, something better than my brittle nails.

I use prescription nails which you have to get at a nail salon but most do not carry them but they come in many sizes so they fit your nail bed perfectly. I have them replaced every two weeks. Wonderful tone much better than my regular nails.
