Micropore tape for nail protection.

Post by Crofty » Wed Aug 29, 2018 4:36 pm

Discovered this after a little play bite from Rosie, many years ago when she was just a little puppy, caused damage to my i finger nail.

Anyway, don't know of if it has been recommended before but it is brilliant for covering nails, partially or totally, and means one can play very strongly or practice extensor exercises/rasgueados, with far less fear of any damage.

Surprisingly not. Doesn't seem to matter which brand you use either. Obviously a few chores/hand washes and it will need renewing and you also need to experiment with how you use it, what angle and so on.

I've actually found that if I'm inventive enough I can produce a very acceptable sound that works for 19th c music - just reduces nail overtones the right amount [assuming that is the sound you are looking for for that music.]
