Bach, J. S. (?) - BWV Anh 132 Minuet - Video (auth. Stauffer guitar)

Post by Marek Cupak » Mon Jan 15, 2018 8:20 am

Played on an authentic early romantic period guitar made by Johann Georg Stauffer (1778 - 1853) in Vienna.

I do not own this instrument, but am glad I had the chance to have it borrowed for some time. Primarily, it was meant to be measured and examined by my colleague luthier http://www.okenicaguitars.com/ who builds new instruments in style of Lacote, Stauffer and other masters of 19th century, to gain some inspiration from. But I couldn't return it without doing some recordings for you :-)

Why do I play: http://marekcupak.com

Performed Oct. 2017

Free sheet music available here: http://www.marekcupak.com/anonymous-j-s ... eet-music/

Wonderful Marek; and yes, what a great guitar! Frankly, I think that you should buy it if possible. You look like your were made for each other. It sings in your hands.

Hi Jeffrey. Thanks for having a listen!
Well, it is not possible - it hasn't been offered for sale. And I guess the sum would be quite high, though.

I did 3 recordings with it, in a single session I could do back then, so 2 more are to come :-) I just have to sit down and gather some time to compile the videos.
