Hi Owl, great recording, I've been working on this sonata too recently with my teachers arrangement and have performed it quite a few times in concerts and competitions its an absolutely fantastic piece. I just have a differring opinion on the way the arpeggios such as that in the first bars should be played, I tend to think that if you group it the way you have done with 2 sets of three per bar (essentially a 6/16 time signature) it can sound slightly unstable when exchanging between that idea and the idea which is more firmly in 3/8 such as in bar 12. Thats just my opinion of course, great playing nevertheless!
Just a question, what made you decide to transcribe the Siciliano into A Major rather than C Major which would be the correct key in terms of the other movements?

Hi hellow326... thanks for listening, and for your comments
I think how you play the arpeggios in this section is an interpretive thing... I don't believe that the term 'should be played' can be applied here
As you know it's quite a demanding sonata to play but it's certainly worth the effort

Louis transcribed the sonata into Aminor from the original Gminor, except for Siciliana, which you noted is in Amajor... it seems to fit better in terms of adaptability

I'd love to hear you play it... why don't you post it here... it's great to have differing interpretations of the same piece

Thanks again for your positive comments and for taking the time to listen... I appreciate it :D

Yeah sure, if I ever get the oppurtunity to record them I definitely will, it would be nice to have the two different interpretations.

My God, Owl

It has been so long since I first heard this recording.
How did you not paralyse your left arm halfway through??? Such intensity!

That was great! Made my day. And thx for the update as I wasn’t around here for the first posting.

When I joined here a few years ago I thought this forum was the answer to everything.

I now find that with YouTube and so many other new ways to explore music online it is simply overwhelming.

I loved the bass line!
