Sor, Fernando - op.09 Variations - Video

Post by Daniele Lazzari » Mon May 23, 2016 9:46 am

One of the most popular pieces by Fernando Sor (Barcelona, 1778 - Paris, 1839). The first edition of the piece is dated 1821 in London.
The theme sounds different than the Mozart's original: indeed it is already a variation!
The piece consists in an "orchestral" introduction, theme, variations and finale (an extended "coda"). A very well conceived piece which always sounds exciting and fresh!
This video was live recorded yesterday. Thanks for watching!

Very well played! So many different performers have done this one but I have yet to get tired of listening to it.
I really like the sound of your guitar, too!

Bravo! Very beautiful! I have always thought this was such a great piece. Very difficult piece and you pulled it off flawlessly!
