On other guitars I use the "low tension" in the green package, which is the equivalent in tension to D'Addario Hard tension.
This is helpful, as I normally use D'Addario J46 (hard) and I just today put on Hannabach Silver specials LT (Green card). They feel a bit soft right now... Must give them a few days. VERY different sound from the D'Addarios, at least today!
If you move from ej 46 to Hannabach green you'll find a softer string for sure.
Try black Hannabach instead. Also black are softer than ej 46 so there is also the blue choice.
In fact one thing is tension another thing is the feeling under fingers.
But it also depends on guitar.
