What sheet music did you buy last and why?

Talk about things that are not necessarily related to music or the guitar.

My wife (vocals) and I are a duo playing Bossa, Swing and Latin music. We moved from Munich to the Azores (belong to Portugal) about one and half a year ago. We are now going to adjust our reperoire a little bit, that's why I ordered:

- Melodias De Sempre: 42 Fados de Amália Rodrigues
- Melodias De Sempre: 39 Fados de Amália Rodrigues

I'm very curious if and how Fado will work without Guitarra Portuguesa

Per-Olov Kindgren's, "Prelude in B Minor" An homage to Fernando Sor.
It's a little different than Sor's, and I like it. You can listen to it on his webpage.

The Frederick Noad books - the Renaissance and the Baroque. As we all know, photocopying a thick book and bending the spine is a pain. I cut the spines off with a box cutter, then take them to the local stationery store where they put spiral binding on. Very handy.

The Complete Studies of Giuliani, edited by Rick Grimes. I was considering the Tecla edition, but the spiral binding won me over. My old Giuliani Opus 1 book is pretty tatty and only has parts 1 & 2, and I thought it would be nice to have a physical copy of his other works as well. I also picked up the 2nd edition of Pumping Nylon while I was at it.

Hey, welcome to the forum. Thanks for the info on Complete Studies of Giuliani. I went to buy a copy at SBM and notice the editor is David Grimes or maybe I was looking at another study book. Is it Rick or David Grimes?

Thanks so much and see you on the forum,

I do find myself buying music inspired by youtube recordings. I bought a copy of the Bach sonatas and partitas for solo violin for only a few pieces but I have become addicted to many of them.

I bought Magnus Lindberg's Mano a Mano. So amazing piece. Some of Dylla's performances are wonderful. That's a pity he wrote just one piece for guitar...

I just bought the Collected Thoughts suite by Richard Charlton, and Oeuvres pour Guitarre by Leo Brouwer (which includes all the Edtudios Sencillos pieces). These are part of my current curriculum with the Classical Guitar Corner Academy. The cover a range of grades and levels of playing, and are magical to learn and to play. Cheers... Richard

“Christmas Songs for Classical Guitar,” arranged by J. David Belcher. It includes two arrangements of, “Greensleeves,” “The First Noel,” “The 12 Days of Christmas,” “Jingle Bells,” and, “Away in a Manger.”
I’m always looking for arrangements of Christmas carols.
