Share Your Guitar/Music Woohoo! Moment/s!

Every now and then we meet a goal, or get over a plateau, etc., and just need to share the moment with others who 'get it'!

I'll go first  :

I've been playing since December - with the main goal to be able to chord for beginner violin/fiddle players this summer.

I took my guitar to my violin lesson yesterday, and had my teacher play fiddle tunes, and I could do it! I wasn't especially good, I can change chords quickly enough, but not consistantly cleanly yet.

But - I should be okay by summertime! Yay!

Wow. What an achievement!! :)

I didn't realise you'd only been playing 3 months. That must have felt good. :bravo:

Well, my last Woohoo moment was something really quite unexpected. I know some people have already seen this, so apologies for the repetition, but I absolutely loved taking part in that variety show!! :)

I've never done anything like that before and the experience of engaging all those people in err... umm... a singalong was amazing!

I think it was the collective sense of joy that struck me. Over 100 people sang along. :casque: (And just in case anyone's wondering, I do know my singing wasn't perfect!)

Full clear notes
Slow is fast

Both things I've been told before but they really sunk in today for some reason.

I've slowed down quite a bit. To the point that I'm making mistakes almost never. I was pushing myself to speed up. Now I'm making myself slow down. Gonna let the speed come once I have the muscle memory to back it up.

Eureka. No more getting the first phrase up to speed when I can't even play the fifth phrsse yet. That's just setting myself up for failure. Slow and steady :)
Let there be songs to fill the air.

I just realized that I can "play" (and I use that word loosely) most of the pieces in the RCM Prep book!

I can play a few almost to speed, and at least have the finger placement for the rest...

When I started they were all Greek.
