US $.7300 Bertrand Ligier spruce 2015, Philadelphia, PA

Post by JayGuitar » Fri Nov 10, 2017 12:35 pm

Classical Guitar by French Luthier Bertrand Ligier
Year of construction: 2015
Scale length (mm): 650mm, 19 frets
Neck Width: 52mm at the nut with 43.5 mm string spacing.
Top: European spruce - very well quarter-sawn, with medullary rays and some bearclaw figuring. Beautiful rosette.
Back / Sides: Pau Ferro (Machaerium scleroxylon) straight-grained with some sapwood to the lower bouts.
Bracing: Fan braced
Fingerboard / (bridge): Ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge with bone-capped tie-block.
Sound: Clear. Sweet trebles, good balance across the strings. A pleasure to play.
Condition: Excellent, french polished. Part of an embarrassingly large collection so used perhaps once every couple of weeks for a couple of hours each time.
Price: $7300 plus shipping costs.
Viewing / trial possible: Yes.
Location: About 30 miles NW of Philadelphia.
Tuners: Nicolo Alessi - style 11 with Hauser-shaped side-plates with snakewood inlay and snakewood buttons.
Case: Hiscox Pro II

Selling this guitar is simply an attempt to downsize my collection. Thanks.

Yes, it is and it looks even in person. It is just a beautiful, elegant guitar and it sounds great which helps too :D . I wish I could keep them all. Thanks.

As a player of Ligier I can't recommend his guitars enough. It's one of the few guitars that you can crave to play when you've been away from it for a few hours. Truly incredible work going on with these instruments.

Beautiful instrument...I'll keep an eye on it just in case you decide to make a price drop.
Good luck with the sale...my true feelings are you should keep it...may be difficult to replace such a fine guitar.

Thanks. Funny you should say this because I was recently telling a friend that I was thinking of selling this guitar but I was also telling him that I really liked it. He suggested I keep it too. Bottomline is that I would like to sell a couple of guitars, I really just have too many guitars. We will see how it goes with this one. Thanks.

That's what happens... and then there was a reason why you got this guitar in first place, and it becomes difficult to part ways with them ... but the "too many aspect" remains as well.
