Hello again from Cleveland, OH

Post by BethFR » Fri Jan 26, 2018 4:18 pm

Hello folks,

I'm rejoining this forum after a hiatus of several years. I've been playing classical guitar for over a decade (my first instruments were piano and voice), and work professionally (part time) as cantor and spiritual leader of a small synagogue. A few years ago I returned to school to train to become a music therapist, with guitar as my major instrument. I'm one of those small hand people, and found this forum incredibly useful as I searched for the right short-scale instrument for me, which ended up being a Darren Hippner Torres model (spruce/cocobolo) which I love. I'll be completing an internship next year, then looking for work in music therapy. Now I'm searching for a less expensive short-scale instrument to use in sessions, which is proving quite the challenge.

I'm nearing the end of my course work and preparing for my senior recital now, and it occurred to me that I ought to post some recordings at some point.

That's all for now.

Welcome Beth. You probably already know about the Cleveland International Classical Guitar Festival, but if not you should be sure to check it out. Great performers, wonderful atmosphere. This will be my sixth year there...well worth the drive from New York!
