Written some two years ago on the passing of my second Mom, but just now notating and recording it. It's a straightforward AB form with variations on the repeat of each part. There are a lot of jazz voicings, and a few awkward stretches, but for the most part it falls easily under the fingers.
The first part (Mournfully) deals with the loss-the collective of grief, angst, and resolve, and the second part (Hopefully) represent the celebration of life. If you stick with the audio you'll hear the final phrase which represents the infinite mystery of it all.
The video is the B part only, but the audio is the entire piece, albeit a bit rough. The score still needs some work; there are no dynamics, etc., but if you give it a go you'll get the gist of it. I hope you enjoy it.
