Hello from Santa Cruz California

Post by Di Mauro » Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:25 am

Hello Everyone, I'm J. Di Mauro a player, luthier (builder) and composer of music for the classical/nylon string guitar. I've been playing Classical guitar for about 18 years and have studied with local teachers (Guy Cantwell, Mesut Ozgen and Kevin Mc Dowell) here in Santa Cruz. I have also been a student in a number of master classes throughout the years. I've been building classical guitars for about six years and am currently on my 22nd guitar. I studied guitar building under Brain Burns in Fort Bragg, Harry Fleishman in Sebastopol and Al Calderon in Winters. I've also picked the brain of many builders locally (Kenny Hill, Eric Reed and Matt Mustapick). I play guitar at a local coffee house in Capitola from time to time and have performed at a number of weddings, wineries and a couple house concerts throughout the bay area and beyond. Thanks for having this great website to reference all things classical guitar related.

Welcome to Delcamp!

If you haven't already, please take a moment to read this page for a good rundown on how the forum works, rules, history, etc. You have found a great source of classical guitar knowledge, as we have a wide assortment of members, from beginners to performing artists, with a number of fine teachers, historians, and luthiers. So feel free to ask any questions you might have, but consider using the search function first, as many topics have already been discussed at length.

If you participate in other online forums, you might notice that things can occasionally get rather heated. Delcamp takes great strides to avoid that. Here areMssr. Delcamp’s thoughts on that.

Please note that there is a requirement to post an average of once a month. Members not meeting this standard may have their memberships terminated.

Adding your location to your profile is a nice touch. Many of us have made new friends from doing just that.

Again, welcome to the forum!

Regards,
