This is a beautiful guitar by Jim Frieson; an active member here. This is aesthetically a 'Sanfeliu' hommage and the marquetry is exquisite and very detailed. The sound of the guitar is fully Jim's personal style rather than a copy of 'Sanfeliu'. I love the richness of the guitar and the notes really pop out of it with minimal effort on the players part... it has very good clarity with air and top resonances around G# and is one of the louder traditionally built guitars I've heard. Overall this is a really standout guitar that I learned a lot from. Woods are a gorgeous Swiss spruce top covered in silk and some very old Brazilian rosewood of the highest quality.
The current action is set at 3.8mm low E and 3.25mm high E and buzz free even under hard playing. The neck is a nice shape and seems well suited for medium sized hands, although it's very comfortable for my large Segovia sized hands (unfortunately completely lacking Segovia sized dexterity and skill
) The tuners are custom real silver Gotoh's with mother of pearl buttons.
The guitar is completely mint as it was delivered to me by David. It has been kept in my climate controlled shop with the exception of playing it now and then.
Shipping: I will ship domestic one day air express shipping insured for the full value through my company insurance for a flat rate of $100. International shipping will be quoted on a case by case basis. In the event of an international buyer I will have to apply for a CITES import permit specific to your country, so I can't say exactly how long it will take since every office is different.
I am selling this and the Coriani because I'm done studying them and have other areas that I want to invest in for my business. I don't play enough classical to justify keeping all these awesome guitars. Let me know if you have any questions and I'm happy to field offers.
