This is a beautiful guitar by Jim Frieson; an active member here. This is aesthetically a 'Sanfeliu' hommage and the marquetry is exquisite and very detailed. The sound of the guitar is fully Jim's personal style rather than a copy of 'Sanfeliu'. I love the richness of the guitar and the notes really pop out of it with minimal effort on the players part... it has very good clarity with air and top resonances around G# and is one of the louder traditionally built guitars I've heard. Overall this is a really standout guitar that I learned a lot from. Woods are a gorgeous Swiss spruce top covered in silk and some very old Brazilian rosewood of the highest quality.

The current action is set at 3.8mm low E and 3.25mm high E and buzz free even under hard playing. The neck is a nice shape and seems well suited for medium sized hands, although it's very comfortable for my large Segovia sized hands (unfortunately completely lacking Segovia sized dexterity and skill :? ) The tuners are custom real silver Gotoh's with mother of pearl buttons.

The guitar is completely mint as it was delivered to me by David. It has been kept in my climate controlled shop with the exception of playing it now and then.

Shipping: I will ship domestic one day air express shipping insured for the full value through my company insurance for a flat rate of $100. International shipping will be quoted on a case by case basis. In the event of an international buyer I will have to apply for a CITES import permit specific to your country, so I can't say exactly how long it will take since every office is different.

I am selling this and the Coriani because I'm done studying them and have other areas that I want to invest in for my business. I don't play enough classical to justify keeping all these awesome guitars. Let me know if you have any questions and I'm happy to field offers.

Best,

Chris S

Do you have some strange permissions on the youtube video? It doesn't seem to work. I would love to hear the guitar!

An extraordinarily beautiful guitar. The last time I made such a comment was when another Frieson guitar was posted a few years ago.

A buddy of mine has played this very guitar at David Conti's and remarked that it very well could of been the best guitar he has ever played. Having owned a Frieson myself, I can strongly vouch for Jim's guitars. Hope this one finds its way into the hands of someone who can appreciate it's tonal beauty. If only circumstances allowed, I would gladly snatch this one for myself without hesitation.

I have played a Frieson too and it was likely the best guitar I have ever played. If I wasn't in the middle of buying a house, I thought very hard about jumping on this guitar. *sigh* Why does life have to get in the way of such beautiful guitars?

Price drop to $5400 for 1 week only... MODs can you change the title to reflect the price drop.

This is a killer deal and I’m only willing to do it so I can move forward with some construction plans!

Thanks Delcamp!

$5400 is an insane deal for a guitar of this caliber. Someone should seriously consider this one if they are in the market. Seeing that Chris also provides a trial period, there is relatively less risk.

I agree that this is a tremendous deal. I still have a Frieson in my possession, and it's a beautiful, great sounding guitar. Let's just say that I paid more for mine, and it looks plain in comparison to this beauty.
