Excellent sound without nails. Also I recently tried without nails but I'm not used and my sound is not very convincing, I do not like it at all. You've always played without nails, probably, with excellent results. The piece is interpreted with a lot of feeling.

Thanks, Alessandro. You say you tried "recently", and are not satisfied with the result. It took me six months to start developing the sound I found acceptable, and I have refined that over twenty-five years. When you first started playing with nails, we're you satisfied with that sound immediately, or did it take time to develop and refine? No matter how you do it, good tone takes time, unless you are very lucky, which I wasnt. I had to work at it.

Ok Rob but it seems to me that your formation as a guitarist happened immediately without nails or I'm wrong.

No, I played with nails from the beginning, all the way through my time as a student at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music. I cut them off after my last exam :-)

beautiful to listen to most of all and very well executed.
I hope to be able to achieve something as brilliant as this in my playing some day !!

Cheers, Ian. There's a good chance you will, if you stick at it. Best wishes.

Found this today, really cool Rob. Don’t know more than a couple of Tarrega pieces, Lagrima, A major study. I like how he is all over the fretboard yet with comparatively simple lines, not meant to be showy, but gently exquisite.
(Wish I was more clear, must be the heat.)

I know what you mean, Smith. He has some show-off pieces, but his lyricism always shines through. Like Sor, I think his miniatures are masterpieces.

Truly well-played. The sounding, and in the spirit of the piece.
Thanks for sharing.
