Old Mario Abril books

Post by patsorenson » Sun Aug 12, 2018 10:59 pm

I am looking for a book called From Impressionism to Jazz, of songs arranged by Mario Abril, which includes Satie Gymnopededie #1, Take Five, and some other such tunes. Does anyone have a copy of this that they would sell to me? I have looked online for a copy on the auction site, etc. but can't find one.

Hi Pat,

I've never heard of and/or seen that book by Abril - Here's a list of his published books and works on his website and it isn't listed

there's a contact page though, so perhaps you can try that - let us know if you're successful in tracking down the book! :D

This link on that site to buy music has been dead for a very long time.

Found this old thread here about Mario that started 10 years ago. His son posted in 2010 and said his dad was still teaching at UTC Chattanooga but I just checked there and he's not the current guitar instructor though he is listed in the professor faculty emeriti section.

clifford d has one, you might ask him:

if you exhaust all reasonable possibilities, pm me.

Hey thanks Ray and Randall and Soltirefa- I know the book exists because my teacher has a copy of it (but not complete- some of the pages are missing). I actually found this site this morning, which lists some public libraries who have it, but none really close to me. I wonder if I could borrow it from them via mail or something, but I've never tried. I'll explore that option first. http://www.worldcat.org/title/classical ... lc/9604895

I will also use the contact info on Mario's pages- thank you!

I did find clifford D's list of books on a google search, (and I thought I had a lot!), but didn't see that particular one- maybe my eyes just missed it. But I'll explore that too.

Thanks so much!
